Thank you for you interest in joining The Landseer Players.
The Landseer Players are an amateur dramatics group based in the east of Ipswich. Whilst we rehearse in the east of the town, we currently perform our shows at Chantry High School, Mallard Way, Ipswich. We specialise in performing traditional family pantomimes, and these are normally performed during the half term week of February. Once pantomime has finished, we do not normally meet again until September, as we don’t usually perform in the summer. However, that’s not to say we won’t.
Our rehearsal period is normally September to performance time in February, rehearsals being on a Monday and Friday evenings at All Hallows Church Hall, Landseer Road, Ipswich. Rehearsal schedules are produced indicating who is required, at what time and on what night. For the early rehearsals, most people are only required once a week, but as performance time gets nearer this will be twice a week. Children’s rehearsals normally start at either 7:00 or 7:30 and are normally no longer than 2 hours, and in most cases shorter. It's just when it all gets put together that rehearsals take longer.
As you might expect, there is some cost associated with joining The Landseer Players as we have to cover such costs as insurance and rehearsal venue hire etc. The current annual membership, covering the period 1st September to 31st August is:

There is also a production fee for all cast members for each production in a year. This is £10 for all cast members.
All prospective cast members are required to audition and this is normally done within the first couple of weeks or so. Auditions are not generally in front of other group members, normally just in front of the directors etc. and may be in small groups. It is very much at the Directors discretion.
